The Gentle Art Of Silence.

The one thing that is sending me a really strong message at the moment is the importance of silence. Spending time in solitude with just your thoughts, mother nature and yourself. It is more important now than ever a this last year has been extremely tough, harsh, for many and in order to fully let go and get back to the truth of who you are and why you are here this is simply the best way.

In this day and age it's hard to get away from everything, work life, home life, family but may I suggest you do so at every minute available. Do only what is necessary, delegate where possible, this is now going to be your time, so reserve it a regular booking. The more solid time you can spend in silence the more beneficial it will be. You owe this to yourself and your future selves.

Switch off all technology, tv, computers, phones, stereo. The aim is silence, complete silence. Anything else is a distraction, a distraction from what is really going on within you. Fear is a distraction, work is a distraction, saying yes to everything else but yourself is a distraction. Technology, radiation is frying your brain, overworking it, creates stress, dulls your senses.

When you work within silence your whole world changes. You hear different things, the sound of the wind, the trees gently swaying, if your lucky the sound of your own heartbeat. Noises that once fell on deaf ears come alive. Your senses become more heightned, sensitive, you feel more. You realise that you just don't need all that `stuff' you thought you needed, you don't need busyness to fill your life. All you need is freely available you just need to tap into that space.

When you speak, communicate, you will be more to the point. There is no longer the need for the unnecessary just to make conversation or fill the awkward silence. Arguing will be kept to a minimumand not rambling off in different directions.

Listening will become an art, you won't hear a string of words, you will hear understanding. There is such a huge difference between listening and hearing.

It is amazing how quickly you will find a sense of peace, focus, clarity and an appreciation for more is less.

Spend time with yourself, become your own best friend, listen to what your body is telling you. Feel what you need to know. Be mindful of the moment you are in, not the one that has passed and not the one you have not yet lived.
