What I have learnt from my kids
We really can learn from our children. They hold on to far less ego than we do as adults. This week my son is on holidays from uni and work and decided to build a fire pit. He drew up the plans and purchased what he needed with his own money. When I first heard about this I instantly wanted to say no but had to stop myself. It was a control issue, it wasn't my idea and I had other things I wanted him to do. How could I say no he was so excited and keen. As my children were growing up I did everything, it was just easier than having to redo everything. Thus I made a rod for my own back as getting them to do anything is a struggle. So this time I let go of the reigns and watching this beautiful fire pit come together.xx
